DOCOMO interTouch uses various technologies to make High Speed Internet Access service available to our hotel customers by the application of category 5e/6 structured cabling systems (Ethernet), xDSL and wireless networks.

Category 5e/ 6 Network
 
Ethernet networks are most commonly used for Local Area Networks which are built for a group of users within an organization such as in an office building. Using Ethernet Cat 5/5e/6 cabling, DOCOMO interTouch networks deliver back-to-back 100 Mbps network speeds which support a wide range of applications in a reliable manner. With a true plug and play solution, no in-room equipment is required.

xDSL

Digital subscriber lines (DSL) carry data at high speeds over standard telephone wires. With DSL, users can receive voice and data simultaneously so there is no need for a separate phone line to enable the in-room Internet connection; however in-room equipment (modem) is required.

Wireless Network 

DOCOMO interTouch's wireless network is compliant to industry standard IEEE 802.11 and built on access points. Our access points act like a hub, providing connectivity to wireless computers. It also connects (or "bridges") wireless LAN to a wired LAN, thereby allowing seamless connectivity of wired and wireless Internet access services.

Broadband provides standard interfaces for Fidelio, Maxial and other major PMS currently in the market.

Network Architecture
 
Hotel network is segmented to maximize bandwidth using fiber backbones and switched segments. Solutions are modular in order to support simple expansion, whether using a CAT5e/ CAT6 or DSL network.

Hardware & Infrastructure

CAT5 installations use packaged structural cabling systems from companies like Krone and AT&T. DOCOMO interTouch manages every aspect of the installation and before any cabling project is started, proper mock-up rooms are used to get the approval of the hotel's engineering department for the cabling project.

Security & Maintenance

• The Broadband architecture separates guest network and hotel LAN/WLAN. In case of a shared lease line, a firewall is installed between the networks.
• VLAN technology prevents room-to-room direct connection.
• Security features are updated to ensure potential risks are eliminated. The DOCOMO interTouch solution supports major VPN platforms and new ones are being added.
• Monitoring and reporting in various levels: system, property, guest.
• Necessary spare parts are maintained in each DOCOMO interTouch field office.
